Do you like a big front porch or want a carport?
Here is a practical little floor plan with a slightly more complex ceiling line, but not really. Modified scissors trusses
jump over the living room and kitchen areas to give the feel of one room and add to the sense of spaciousness. Then as
you enter the dining room from the kitchen, the ceiling line changes to a full scissors effect for variety. A shelf outlining
the kitchen cabinets above outlines the kitchen below and leaves room for display. A half round window in the dining room
over a standard window further enhances the ceiling in that room and adds a little spark to the overall design.
The side entry door off of the (optional) carport allows direct access to the kitchen area. A seat at the top of the
stairs provides a place to put groceries when unloading the car, removing shoes, and the like. The outdoor storage area
will come in handy for the lawnmower and other garden equipment.
Three bedrooms are located to the back of the home for privacy, with closets and bathrooms to buffer them from everyday
living. The master bedroom offers its own private bathroom and a walk-in closet. The other two bedrooms also offer
ample closet space.
Plenty of storage can be found in the kitchen as well. It includes a pantry and a broom closet in addition to the typical
cabinets. Appliances are arranged to allow elbow room when cooking, and the added snack bar at the head of the sink allows additional surface area or a place for guests or children to sit and visit while staying out of the way.
The roomy front porch is large enough for a table and chairs or other outdoor furniture to enjoy those beautiful summer evenings.
For the size, this home has a lot to offer to its occupants both inside and out.
