Beginning on a practical note, the garage and the house shown on this plan are the same width and are joined with a breezeway of the same span. This creates a peak to match scenario and makes the double A's appear to be a hipped roof. But your builder will know better and thank you for it. Another perk to using the same setups are the interior ceiling options which still allow for a 24" o.c. spacing set-up above .... very economical indeed. While one person might enjoy vaulted ceilings in the Master bedroom to match the living room, another person might prefer attic room storage overhead. Then there is a general storage option truss as well. Mix and match to your heart's content. By instructing your truss fabricator as to which option(s) you want over head, they can adjust the count, overhang, and perimeter of your trusses accordingly. After all, your home is YOUR
home, so you should have choices if possible. Just build any interior walls up to meet as required once your truss choices have been made.
First, note the flow of the rooms and the way that the breezeway connects the house to the garage. And for those that like a private sitting area sheltered from the rain ... well there you have it. In the meantime, the area can buffer the sound between the house and the garage. Upon entering the house via the breezeway, you can enter directly into the kitchen or hit the mud room first. The main living room boasts its own private entry to allow for a formal touch, even though space has not been wasted on a foyer. The kitchen overlooks the dining room with a convenient pass-thru which enhances the public living areas and allows the areas to function together. Also observe the generous pantry in the kitchen. The hall bathroom is directly across from the two minor bedroom and the Master bedroom, complete with walk-in closet and a 3/4 bath, is tucked neatly in the rear of the home for privacy. Lastly the laundry is conveniently located to save steps and money ... note the economical plumbing arrangement. I'm sure you'll agree that this is a very practical home for the size in both function and overall appeal.
